Preparing your Quilt
-

Trim
Clip away any loose or dangling threads on the front and back of your quilt top. This prevents stray dark threads from showing through light fabrics once everything is stitched together.
-

Press
Give your quilt top and backing a thorough press with your iron. Pressing all your seams flat helps the longarm foot glide smoothly across your fabric without catching, bunching, or creating puckers.
-

Backing
Your backing needs to be 4 to 5 inches longer on all four sides than your quilt top (that’s 8 to 10 inches extra in total width and length). This gives the longarm frame and clamps the extra room needed to keep your quilt flat while stitching.
If your backing (or quilt top!) has a directional print that needs to face a certain way, please pin a piece of paper to the TOP edge with a safety pin so I can load it correctly.

Mail
Always place your folded quilt top and backing inside a sealed plastic bag (large ziploc or trash bag) before putting it into the shipping box or poly mailer. This protects your fabric from moisture or weather during transit.
Pop a slip of paper inside the bag with your name, phone number, and email address so I can easily match the parcel to your order as soon as it arrives.
I recommend shipping via USPS with a tracking number so you can follow its journey. Feel free to add shipping insurance for extra peace of mind!
Once you hand your box off to the carrier, send me a quick email with your tracking number so I can keep an eye out for its arrival.
